Sri Lanka today kicked off the inaugural ?SAARC Public Debt Managers? Forum? in Colombo.
The two day forum which commenced this morning is being attended by senior government officials and also representatives of primary dealers, operating in the regional countries.
High level officials and prominent speakers in the sphere of debt management and capital markets are also taking part in the ongoing forum.
The decision to hold a SAARC Public Debt Managers? forum was arrived during the year 2011 by the SAARC Secretariat who met in Kathmandu.
The forum is aimed at creating a platform for senior government debt managers from SAARC countries to exchange their views, experiences, and policies in the field of debt.
Resource persons taking part in this forum includes figures such as Dr. Antonio Velandia Rubiano, Lead Financial Officer, Banking and Debt Management of the World Bank, Dr. Holger Eick, Managing Director, Head of Rating Advisory and Capital Structuring of Barclays Bank and Andrea de Silva, Managing Director, Head, Asia Pacific Rates of HSBC etc.
